  • Life is Better With a Gratitude Attitude

    journal-red

We've all heard about the feel-good benefits of a gratitude attitude.  New studies have shown that even pretending to be thankful raises the levels of the chemicals associated with pleasure and contentment:  serotonin and dopamine.  In other words, fake the gratitude and soon the real thing will come.

More importantly, God's word reminds us of the importance of a grateful attitude, "For the despondent, every day brings trouble; for the happy heart, life is a continual feast." Proverbs 15:15

In that spirit, I'm sooooo thankful for:

    • piles of laundry
    • to do lists that go on forever
    • dirty dishes
    • long tests that reveal areas our homeschool is excelling and areas our homeschool needs to improve
    • four children who fill my life with joy
    • my loving husband whose faith inspires me to be better
    • phone conversations with old friends
    • playdates with new friends

I'm feeling the sertonin and dopamine already.  My happy heart is feasting!
