  • Going Home

    Spent today with my mom.

In 1993, my mom's brother, my Uncle Vern was in a trucking accident.  He was fine from the accident.  However, the doctors immediately sent him to have more tests because of his abnormal results.  In the next two years, he was diagnosed with leukemia.  Transfusions, treatments...He battled cancer fourteen years.

Friday morning he called my mom to say goodbye.

I've talked to Jesus, he said.  I'm going home to get my healing.  Gonna have my eternal transfusion.

At around 3:15 in the afternoon, he took his final breath and entered eternity.

We're remembering.  Crying.  Laughing.  Loving.  Missing.

His greatest legacy?  Four spectacular kids.  A multitude of gorgeous grandchildren.
