  • Bleach Pen T-Shirts

I see cute t-shirts all the time but I'm not a fan of spending 25 bucks on a tee.

When I found bleach pen tees on Pinterest, I knew exactly what I wanted to do.

    Sweetheart 5K shirts.

    Superbowl shirts.

    Home shirt.

And I'm not done.  I may need an intervention.

  • Homemade Kool-Aid Lip Gloss

My daughters and I led a small group back in September for girls (ages 4 to 10).  Our first lesson was about honesty.  We used the scripture,

"The Lord detests lying lips but delights in those who are truthful."  (Proverbs 12:22)

We made "Honest Lips" gloss using Kool-Aid and Vaseline.  It was so easy and the girls loved creating different colors and flavors.  We even used cocoa to make some chocolate gloss.

Here's the basic recipe we used:

    Kool-Aid (various flavors/colors)

    Vaseline

    Sandwich baggies

Lip Gloss Containers (can buy them at the craft store or use empty altoid tins)

Put a scoop of Vaseline in a sandwich bag.  Add the desired amount of Kool-Aid.  More Kool-Aid = more flavor/color.  Zip bag.  Start squishing.  Squish until well mixed.  Once well mixed, begin working lip gloss down the bag into one of the bottom corners.  Snip tip of bag corner with scissors and pipe lip gloss into container (just like decorating a cake).

Pucker up for some lip-smacking fun!  Honest lips only, please.  ;)

  • Love Banner

I have a thing for banners.  I have one in my dining room, over my kitchen sink, in our guest room and now on our headboard.  Not to mention, I really want to make one for our front porch.

To be honest, I wanted to make one for our headboard ever since I saw them on pinterest.  I had even pinned one to my boards but later deleted it because I felt I was teetering near banner overkill.  Then, I had this piece of burlap left that was just big enough for four squares...

    My "Love Banner" -

You'll see these all over pinterest in different shapes and sizes.  Seriously.  Just search "love banner".  I made my letters with hotglue, black ribbon, and black buttons because I'm cheap  I wanted to use stuff I already had.

Since I've dove right into banner overkill, the front porch will probably get bannered too.  ;)

  • My Birds

"My favorite weather is bird-chirping weather."

Founds these whimsical red birds and just knew I had to give them a homeThe little yellow bell = extracited!

"Monday, Monday, so good to me,
Monday Monday, it was all I hoped it would be"

I hope you all have the Monday of your dreams!  May your hair be good, your mind extra-sharp and creative, your children sweet and mannerly, and your husband dear as ever!  Blessings beauties!

  • Spring Wreath

I had to get busy on a new project to replace the Valentine flop

(Spring comes early in the south.)

My project (above) was inspired by this (below) found on pinterest,

I used a pool noodle for my wreath form.  I duct taped the ends together.

The burlap was left over from making this beachy cuteness,

The nest and sign I purchased on clearance last spring at the Paisley Pineapple (a sweet local gift shop).

The moss and yellow flowers came from the Dollar Tree.

  • Flip Flop Fun

    Fabric Scrap Flip Flops

    100_3539

In honor of our local Watermelon Festival.  (We get a little watermelon crazy around here.)

For the "rag" flip flops we cut 6 inch x 1/2 inch strips and double knotted pushing the knots together tightly.

For the fabric strap flip flops, I used this tutorial (slightly adapted).

    Seriously, flip flop fun.

P.S. Gotta have watermelon toes to go with the watermelon flip flops!

  • The Church Pew

The church pew use to sit on my carport.

Then I moved to SC, and it was in our rental house kitchen

Now we live in the Elkanah House and the church pew needed a new place and a new look.

    100_2022

This was my inspiration for the new look.

    100_2038

Yep, it's still hanging around.  I'm kinda attached to it.  It's the starfish that does it for me.

    100_2034

    Well hello there!  :)

    100_2042

I'll end with the roses that I just can't stop smelling.  Can't you just smell them too?  Seriously.

    100_1896

My rosette necklace inspiration came from Craftify It.  Go check it out for a thorough tutorial.  I used clear stretch cord instead of thread for my necklace.  I premade my rosettes before threading them onto the stretch cord by stitching my rosettes as I rolled  them for extra hold.

Thanks for the inspiration Staci! I'm loving Craftify It!
