  • 1st Birthday Collage

When I saw this "ONE" collage on pinterest  I just knew I had to recreate it for my little guy.  It was hilarious chasing him all over and getting him to hold the different letters.  They ended up in the dirt many times.  A fun day and a really fun collage.

  • Bleach Pen T-Shirts

I see cute t-shirts all the time but I'm not a fan of spending 25 bucks on a tee.

When I found bleach pen tees on Pinterest, I knew exactly what I wanted to do.

    Sweetheart 5K shirts.

    Superbowl shirts.

    Home shirt.

And I'm not done.  I may need an intervention.

  • Valentine Wreath (Pinterest Inspired)

I've not been pinning and doing.  Oh, I've been pinning.  Just not doing.  I've totally been slack.  So, when I saw this valentine wreath on Pinterest, I knew it was the perfect project for me to tackle.

    Here's my version:

    I used a wreath I already had.

I printed a vintage valentine (for free, thanks google).

Framed it in a frame I had on hand.  Took all of five minutes to complete this project and $0.00.  I'm happy.  Even better, I'm pinning and doing;)

  • Scriptures to Pray for My Children

I love this printable bookmark of scriptures to pray over my children.  Such a great reminder of God's promises!

I was so excited to learn the fishtail braid!  My girls have been wearing fishtail ponies.

This book is awesome.  Read it.  Seriously.

And this book should be required reading for all the unmarried peoples, especially the teenage unmarried peoples.  It's gooooood stuff.

That's it for July (so far)!  Happy Pinning y'all!

  • Pinning and Doing (July Edition, Part 1)

Love Pinterest!  I'm committed to actually trying some of the things I pin each month.  The theme of this edition of "pinning and doing" is parenting.

You've got to check this one out!  This mom traced her children's hands, chose a special bible verse to pray over them, and laminated it.  She keeps them in her bible as tangible reminders to pray.  LOVE LOVE LOVE!  Working on this for my kids.  :)

This is so fun!  We have done several of the things on her list as service projects for our family.  You'll for sure be inspired!

This is just a great series to read!  Gives us lots to think about and kinda reinforces the things we already do as parents.

  • Pinning and Doing (June '12)

I made this coffee punch for my church small group!  I'm not a coffee fan but this punch was yummy!

  • Pinning and Doing (April/May)

    I made

    and

Both were delicious!  The chief and the kids like the pepperoni best but I loved the roasted grape tomatoes.  Mmmm....

I've always made marshmallow creme/cream cheese fruit dip but when I saw this variation on pinterest, I just had to try it.

    It is definitely a keeper!

    Inspired by this,

I bought some hair scarves in turquoise for my own hair.  Love!

And I gave my front porch a little accessories makeover which was inspired by

I'm enjoying using pinterest as inspiration for the things that will work with my budget and in my life.  I've heard "talk" of those who feel that pinterest makes them want the things they can't have or can't afford.  I say use it within the perimeters of your own life to maximize your budget and your creativity.  For instance, using the porch pictures above, I shopped my home for items that had similar colors or a similar look and came up with something totally different and unique but with the same "feel".

    Happy Pinning!

  • March Pinning and Doing

I was able to try three of my pins in March.  (Love Pinterest but what's the point in pinning if I don't try the things I pin? winky)

All recipes.  March was a cooking mood for me.

This orange julius recipe tasted like an orange julius.  Very good.

The butterfinger pie is super easy and super good!  Totally recommend trying it.  Note:  I did not use as much candy bar as the recipe called for.

The chicken enchilada soup was a huge hit with my tribe!

March pinning and doing = Success!

Now, what to try in April?

  • Marshmallow Popcorn (Pinterest)

Okay guys, this is too good!  Our family made marshmallow popcorn (click on the pic above to see recipe) and we couldn't even wait until it was finished cooling to enjoy it!  It is the perfect combo of sweet and salty.  Mm..mmm...

    See for yourselves:
