  • The Thanksgiving Tree

As I was getting out the fall decorations, I noticed one of the little trees in our Christmas decorations.  That's when it came to me...

Using a few left over decorations from summer and fall, I threw together our Thanksgiving Tree.

  • Candy, anyone?

He decided to like his costume after all.  I wonder if it had something to do with carrying Kit-Kats and suckers around in that pumpkin?

Chief and papooses did a great job carving.  Don't you think?

    We kept the seeds.

Sugar Coated Roasted Pumpkin Seeds (YUM!)

    1 cup of seeds

1 tablespoon vegetable oil or melted butter

    2 tablespoons sugar

    1 teaspoon cinnamon

    1 teaspoon allspice

    1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Scoop seeds out of pumpkin.  Wash thoroughly.  Pat to dry with paper towels.  Don't leave them on the paper towels to dry completely.  They'll stick!  In a bowl coat seeds with oil and seasonings.  Spread onto a baking sheet.  I covered my baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy clean up.  Bake at 300 degrees for 45 - 60 min.  Take them out when they are crunchy.

The delightful aroma is reason enough to make them.  Heavenly!

What can I give you - snickers, musketeers, milkyway, raisinettes?  Sorry, the kit-kats are Judah's.
