Antique Shopping
So okay, I went shopping in my dad’s barn again. Under the pretense of helping him “clean” it out. Well, I did my daughterly duty and brought home this awesome old church pew.
It came out of a church built by my maternal great-grandfather. He also helped to build the pews. Painting the bible verse on the slats was Brian’s idea. He even suggested this particular verse, after I vetoed his first suggestion. His first suggestion stemmed from how uncomfortable the pew actually is. Can you imagine sitting on these during revival services for possibly hours? Are you ready for Brian’s suggestion? Are you sure you are ready for it? Here it is: “Don’t sit, have a Pentecostal fit!” Now you know why I vetoed it. I really wanted to use black paint but I had the blue left over from another project and was too
cheapfrugally minded to buy a black one. I darkened it with a black sharpie and it looks great. I should retake the pictures but I'm lazy and all.Rejoice Evermore. Pray Without Ceasing. In every thing give Thanks.
We also brought home this awesome
side table, stool, side table. Actually, Dad is not sure what it is. He called it a stool. Now, it is a side table. Except for when Judah uses it to climb over the side of the couch and then I suppose it is a stool.

In Jamaica the churches totally have pews like that only longer.
and church there lasts HOURS upon HOURS. and they all just sit (uncomfortably) in their nicest clothes, shoes, and hats and praise the Lord. for hours. without air. or powerpoints. or coffee. or cushions. and they make joyful noises.
@iwannahavecrazyfun - That is so awesome! When I was a little girl, we went to a church with pews like that. It wasn't a big deal to me at all. But then, my behind was maybe six inches wide. Now, I'll not discuss the width (lol). And now I'm spoiled because I like cushy seats, air conditioning, and powerpoint (I could do without the coffee - lol). Even still, someday, I want to go to church in Jamaica.
We gave our donation for the mission trip. Brian put it in the offering. It was marked in the memo what it was for. Phillip Bundy said the secretary checks those things and properly allocates them. How much did you guys raise?
We are planning to bring supplies next week, too. I'm going to let the girls pick them out.
My dad told me last night that your dad had surgery. Just want you to know that he and your family are in my prayers.
Yeah, this one church marsh and I go to starts at about 10 30 and goes to about 4 or 5 (or longer). One time I wore a dress with mesh lining...SO uncomfortable!!
Thanks for the donation!! I am not sure how much we raised overall, but it was a great help., I think about 800 or so!!!!
Supplies would be GREAT! I love that the girls are picking them out!! haha
Thanks for the prayers about my dad. He is doing okay physically, but emotionally is a whole other issue!
