Newness of Life
"Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life." Romans 6:4
Our oldest daughters have been very persistent about being baptized. We were going to make arrangements for a baptism service at our church but these girls just couldn't wait. So, at the last minute/spur of the moment, with our pastor's blessing, we had a family gathering and a baptism service in our backyard. Our pastor assured us that pool baptisms "take" (lol).
The girls were baptized by their dad. We had a very cool earthly/heavenly father thing going on. They shared their testimony before witnesses and each had a bible verse they wanted to say. (Yes, I cried but you can be sure I wasn't alone.)
We celebrated with cake and ice cream post baptism.
Me to my second daughter, "Do you feel different now?" My second daughter to me, "I feel complete."
Be. Still. My. Heart.
Baptism Service - Sunday, June 14, 2009
Sharing her testimony and bible verse.
The chief helping her out of the pool.
Praying.
Newly dunked.
Besides the chief and I, this is everyone who came to see them baptized. Grandparents, uncle, sister, and cousins. The lil' guy slept through it but woke up in time for cake.
Good reason as any for cake, don't you think?

The dogma of the church catholic is that the sacrament of baptism may be validly conferred by any baptized Christian, clergy or lay.
