I've been scarce lately.  My blog's a little neglected.  Have y'all noticed?

    My house is to blame.

    Life Lessons:

    1.  One can never imagine just how much work it is to live in a clean home with four kids until one lists their house on the market.

    2.  If one does live in a house that is for sale with one's four kids, one will be exhausted.

    3.  Big kids in the home = free labor.

    4.  Little kids in  the home abundantly negates all free labor provided by the big kids.

Our house selling story (for inquiring minds):

If you've been reading my blog, you know we do Financial Peace University a.k.a. Dave Ramsey.  In two years God has blessed our single income family to pay off over $43,000 in debt!  We are thrilled!  But we really had our heart set on being completely debt free (except our mortgage) after two years and we still have a little bit to go.  It seems like the closer we get to our goal the harder it is.  (We thought it would be easier as we got closer.)  The economic "stuff" going on around us has obviously slowed our pace considerably.

So we're discouraged.  We are.  Even still, we are determined

Back in May, as I was spending some time with the Lord whining praying, I felt the Lord put it in my heart that we should sell our home.  WHAT!  In this housing market?  But that little thought just wouldn't go away.  So, I asked the Lord to let it be the Chief's idea.  A few days later, he and I were having one of our late night conversations (how I love those!) and he says to me, "Have you ever thought about doing something crazy?"  Like what?  "Like selling our house!"  WHAT!

So, we've been cleaning, storing, repairing, and updating.  We are finally done.  The house is now listed with a lovely realtor.  I'll let you know what happens.

"So also faith, if it does not have works (deeds and actions of obedience to back it up), by itself is destitute of power (inoperative, dead)." James 2:17 (AMP)

  • What are the plans if you sell?  Not to be nosey, but we want to make sure you're staying around.  Everything looks great!

  • @zksgirl - We don't have a plan.  Scary but true.  We might end up having to stay at the Carriage House. Let's hope the Lord gives up a plan.  :)

  • Don't stay at the carriage house.  You can always stay with us until the Lord fills you in.  We are never home so at least the house would be used.

  • @tgarrett2 - Thanks everily so much Terry!  Shirley mentioned you have someone staying with you now.  A student?
