Each Age Has Its Gifts
Continuing in the Joy of Motherhood, did y'all "Have Fun" last week?
The kids and I went for a ride on our bikes. I've learned that I love riding bikes in South Carolina. In Virginia? Not so much. Too many hills.
There is so much joy in motherhood. There is nothing like snuggling that newborn baby close and oh. my. goodness. that newborn smell. Who can ever get over that? A toddler oozes cuteness (slobber too). A three year old will leave you rolling on the floor laughing. What's not to love about those five year old hand picked
weedsbouquets? My six year old leaves me notes under my pillow almost everyday. And my big girls? They come to the rescue many many times throughout the day pitching in with the day to day chores. There is nothing like the joy of crafting together, cooking together, and even riding bikes together. I have loved certain things about each and every age.
When our two year old draw on the walls the minute we turn our back to answer the phone, it’s easy to wish we could fast-forward to a day when we don’t need eyes in the back of our head. Just remember the cute way they sing the Veggie Tales theme song, the mispronounced words, the cute little sayings, the snaggled tooth grins, the sweet innocence... If we miss the hard stuff, we miss the cute stuff.
What special memory do you have of your child(ren) that makes all the ages/stages worthwhile? Write it down or blog about it. Those happy moments need to be remembered.

I love this post! Now that my children are grown and married, I have the pleasure of living it all over again through the grands.
Oh I love that newborn smell too!
I just love listening to their silly words....words that they think they are saying correctly, but aren't.
Ex. The pa-cuter....instead of computer.
I love the excitement over little things, small things like a squirrel on the front lawn, or a new bug in the backyard, or Mom baking cookies! I just love everything about being a Mom!
Such a sweet post you wrote here. =)
"If we miss the hard stuff, we miss the cute stuff." SO TRUE. thanks for this reminder today!
@oldfatgramma - You are such an encourager! Thanks for commenting on my blog.
@Elizabethmarie_1 - I can only imagine the cuteness oozing at your house. We're so blessed to be savoring motherhood. At my house it is telehoppers instead of helicopters.
@mytoesareblue - Thanks for commenting lovely lady. :) It's kinda like that movie with Adam Sandler and the remote control. What's the name of it? He fast forwarded through so much of his life and regretted it.
