Homemade Oven Fries
My 2nd trimester pregnancy craving? French Fries.
In an attempt to lighten up on the calories and grease, I found this amazing recipe for oven fries. The ingredients are not really the secret to the amazing part. I believe the secret lies in baking them on a wire rack. They come out so crispy and evenly browned!
Yum-my!
1 1/2 lb baking potatoes, peeled and cut into 1/2 in. thick strips
1 Tbsp. veg oil (olive oil is fine too)
1 tsp. salt (I used sea salt)
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Rinse potatoes in cold water. Drain and pat dry. Toss together potatoes, oil, and salt in a large bowl. Spray wire rack lightly with cooking spray. Place rack in a jelly-roll pan. Arrange potatoes in a single layer. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes.
Serve immediately with ketchup, of course.

I was going to say that they looked so good, I was craving them too and I am not pregnant but then Beth beat me to it! They do look delicious, need to try them.
@foreveranoatneygirl_n2Hisown - I love sweet potatoes! How do you season your sweet potato fries and do you dip them in something?
drizzle 'em with oil, sea salt and paprika and toss and then bake on a cookie sheet.hope you try it and like it! they are really good for you too! my kids honestly like 'em better than regular fries. =)
I'll have to try the rack method. I have a deep-fat fryer, but don't use it often for obvious reasons.
