Faithfulness
We hear people say, we just can't afford this or that. I've learned that we afford what we want to afford. We spend our money on what we want to spend our money on. People say, we just don't have time for this or that. Yet, we have time to watch TV or time to shop...We have time for what we want to have time for.We live in a world in which self-centeredness is promoted. Advertising encourages us to gratify ourselves: Why wait, why deny ourselves, why sacrifice, why not go along with everyone else? Constantly we hear, "Indulge yourself because you deserve it."God's word says that, "He must increase, but I must decrease.” (John 3:30)
More God-centeredness and less self-centeredness.What God calls us to is the opposite of world thinking. Overly focusing on self provides only temporary delight and ultimately leaves life unfulfilled. The more we focus on self the more isolated we become. We must get our focus off self and onto God. Faithfulness and obedience to him will make life worth living!
Love and blessings on this Wednesday evening, sweet friends! May he be at the center of it all!
