Confession: I Cut My Own Hair
Yes. I. Did.
Why?
I could tell you it is because it is so much cheaper or because I can get it exactly how I want it or because I don't have time to make an appt. or because I don' t have time to go to an appt. All of those are true. Partly. But the real reason I cut my own hair was....... (Drum roll)
I was just in the mood to take scissors to my hair. lol What?! That never happens to you?
My husband learned how to fix our clothes dryer by watching a YouTube video. My reasoning: Surely there are videos for cutting your own hair. There are. I used this one.
Doesn't the girl in the video have pretty hair?
The next day, my daughter snapped this pic of the chief and I.
I'm still presentable.
P.S. I may have cut on it a couple more times since then.
P.P.S. If you are under the age of double digits and reading, DO NOT TRY THIS! Seriously.

I love it! Wish I had the nerve to cut mine. You hair looks great, I would never have guessed you cut your own hair! My hubby is always looking up how to do something on google. The last time I came in the office when he was in here, he was learning how to make a whip (Indiana Jones) for Matthew
@oldfatgramma - A whip for Matthew? That is so sweet!
Very fun. I like it. And your crazy-daisy background.
my husband was a hair stylist in a previous life a long, long, time ago. i can't imagine how much money has been saved over the years on home haircuts. recently we looked up razor cutting hair on youtube because i need some of the thickness taken off. he's really rusty, but the video was awesome, so we are buying the razor this weekend and doing it ourselves. he's also going to do highlights for me!--karen
your hair looks great.
My hair is very thin, fine and wavy and I have trimmed my own ends many times, never tried layers though.
@TrentTribe - Actually it was very sweet. He just uses it as a "prop" but when you say it like you did "a whip for Matthew, that is so sweet" sounds a bit strange, eh?
Oh awesome! I might have to try that. I need to get mine highlighted, too. We've got a beauty school here in town and I'm trying to work up the nerve to go to it. Did you have trouble with your hair being kinda curly and cutting it?
I've cut hair since I was in high school. Others and my own. I also use the reasoning. . ."I cut it like I want, if it turns our bad, I have no-one to blame but myself!"
Enjoying all your posts, even if I don't comment regular.
Yesterdays bread looks AMAZING Amanda!
@SealedbyGrace - Curly hair is even easier to cut! Hides any uneven-ness or mistakes.
My hair is barely curly. More wavey. I have to really "encourage" the curls.
@oldfatgramma - lol, I know right! Whip and sweet normally don't belong in the same conversation! But in this case, it def belongs! Sweet granddad for sure!
@betheelou - Thank you, Beth! I know you are super busy. Praying for your upcoming move!
@frathousecook - I have fine, thin hair too. Layers help give my hair volume. I wish I had hair like the girl in the video!
@lifeontheWink - So awesome to have your very own live-in hair person!
@gwennieg - Thank you!
