  • Spring Wreath

I had to get busy on a new project to replace the Valentine flop

(Spring comes early in the south.)

My project (above) was inspired by this (below) found on pinterest,

I used a pool noodle for my wreath form.  I duct taped the ends together.

The burlap was left over from making this beachy cuteness,

The nest and sign I purchased on clearance last spring at the Paisley Pineapple (a sweet local gift shop).

The moss and yellow flowers came from the Dollar Tree.

  • Pinning in Feb '12

My February pins didn't turn out quite like I envisioned in my mind.

Loved this hairstyle!  (@mytoesareblue, you knew I'd give this one a try right away!) I didn't get a picture of my hair but there are two things I should share.  One, no clips for me.  I preferred this style without the embellishment.  Two, I had trouble getting my hair to stay.  I think it needs to be longer.

Made this push-up smoothie.  Really sweet.  Probably won't make it again.

Finally, the worst flop of all.

I deleted this pinterest link permanently.

Better luck in March, right?  Right.

Saw this polish on Pinterest and just so happened to find it at our Dollar General a couple days later.  Really love it over black polish.

Served up this cheese danish on Christmas morning.  It was yum-my!

    organized

So excited that this book from my Wish List was free!  (Kindle and Nook editions)  I've been sorting and organizing ever since.

Also pinned this to my wish list and loved loved loved it!  Katie Davis is my hero!

    highchair

Another wish list pin.  The SpaceSaver highchairs are awesome.  Thanks to a gift from some friends, I purchased this for our newest lil' one.

  • Clementines

Have you guys tried clementines?  My kids eat their weight in them every Christmas.  They are a favorite among children because they are seedless, easy to peel, and sweet!  They are actually a type of mandarin orange but very similar to a tangerine.

    clementines

I've seen them called Cuties and other similar names.  Did I mention my kids love them?  Yes.  They do.

This year, I have had my tribe save the peels for me to make this really yummy potpourri found on Pinterest, of course.

If you want your house to smell heavenly, boil some orange (or clementine) peels with a 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon on Medium heat.

Let them eat clementines, I say!

  • Pinning and Doing in December

Trying not to just be a pinner but to actually "do" the things I pin.  So here's an update on my pinning and doing.

    From my "Wish List":

    I read

    carryyou

    and

    crave

Both are excellent reads.  I highly recommend them.

From my "Hair Inspiration" board, we tried this hairstyle on my oldest

    100_4643

    It was inspired by this

Source: flickr.com via Amanda on Pinterest

A recipe from my "Recipe's To Try" Board

    Cherry Cheese Pie

With the exception that I used strawberries and strawberry pie filling as my topping.  Let me also suggest peaches and peach pie filling.  mmmm...mmm.  Of course, I've nothing at all against cherries.  ;)

I love the "Words of Wisdom" Board.  Yesterday's blog post was inspired by this pin,

"The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway. For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway."—Mother Teresa

Oh yes!  Our recent family pics!  I used my "Photo Inspiration Board" to inspire our "what to wear".  Looking at the recommendations I had saved and inside our closets, I pulled something together.  This particular pin provided the most inspiration,

We didn't have the ultra-cool mustard yellow and used green instead.

Hope you are having as much fun pinning (and doing) as I am!

Another Essie nail polish.  I just love their colors!

    Essie Demure Vixen.

    Funfetti Dip

Yummy and pretty!  Made this for our last night of small group.  Served with graham crackers.

Turned this cleaning wipes container into an embellished grocery bag dispenser for the car.  Perfect for wet bathing suits, trash, dirty diapers, and throw-ups.  Yep.  Life happens in the car too.

    The Story Music CD

    storycd

This was on my wish list.  "Yay for me!"  The Chief knows about my wish list.  Seriously, you NEED to go to this website and listen to a sample.  The stories from the bible in song.  At the moment my favorite is No Compromise (Daniel's story) but my favorite keeps changing.

We tried this hairstyle on Emrie but we forgot to take a picture.  Trust me, it was way cute.

And I made a Moby Wrap with the prettiest gray fabric.  I'll post pics of mine later when baby comes.

  • Trying the Things I Pin (Cont'd)

So blogging has totally motivated me to actually try the pretties on my Pinterest.  So many of the things I pin just involve time or things I already have on hand.  Love the inspiration and having all the things I want to try organized and ready for me to pick something.  :)

We tried three new hair styles thanks to Pinterest.

  • Pinning and Doing

Yes.  I'm still loving Pinterest!  But I don't want to just pin, I want to actually try the things I pin.  So, I promised myself that I'd try something I pinned at least a couple times a month (or more). A couple weeks ago I cleaned our DVDs with toothpaste to fix the scratches (thanks Pinterest).  It worked great.

My other Pinterest actions for the month:

This Essie nail polish called Chinchilly.  LOVE!  Found it at Kmart.

    chinchilly

And these really awesome moccasins (thanks to my bday money from my parents).  Can't wait til they get here.  Ordered mine on Amazon.

    mymocs

And I've been trying tons of new ways to tie scarves.  So far this one is my favorite.

So tell me, what are you pinning and doing?

  • Easy Fix for Scratched DVDs and CDs

    cd dvd

Thanks to Pinterest, I saw this neat trick on Real Simple and it works!  We tried it out on Judah's beloved Cars DVD.  It has been his favorite movie since he was two.  Needless to say two year olds aren't very gentle with their favorite DVDs and Cars suffered many scratches.  After trying this little tip, the movie played straight through without skips or pauses!  Yay!

So, to restore a damaged CD, apply a dot of non-gel formula toothpaste to a cotton cloth and rub in a straight line from the center of the CD outward, covering any scratches. Rinse off the toothpaste with water.

Check out Real Simple for lots more neat tips and tricks.

  • Are you pinning?

My friend, Toni Jill, sent me a text telling me how I really needed to check out Pinterest and she was sooo right.  I LOVE IT!

Pinterest is a virtual inspiration file.  It lets me organize and share all the inspiring things I find on the web. I use it to bookmark craft ideas, photo ideas, recipes, words of wisdom... Anything that inspires me!  And the pinboards are just beautiful to look at.

Best of all?  Seeing my friends pinboards!

Are you pinning?  I want to follow you.  Leave me a link or follow me so I can follow you.
